Privacy Policy

Cartrdg is a place to rank the games you've played, keep a list of games you want to play, rate and review them, and follow friends. This page explains what information Cartrdg keeps, why, and what you can do about it.

What we collect

• Your account: when you sign in with Google or Discord, we receive your name, email address and profile picture. If you sign up with email, we keep your email address and a securely scrambled version of your password. We never see your Google or Discord password.
• What you tell us: your username, country (optional), the platforms you play on, your rankings and Versus picks, Want to Play list, Playing now, shelves, star ratings and reviews, and who you follow.
• Settings on your device: small notes saved in your browser, such as whether you've seen the Versus introduction. These stay on your device.

We don't use advertising, ad trackers or third-party analytics, and we don't sell your information.

How we use it

• To sign you in and keep you signed in (using a login cookie).
• To show your rankings, lists, shelves and reviews, and to suggest matchups and games on your platforms.
• To let friends find you and see your profile.
• To email you about Cartrdg updates, only if you turn that on in Account settings.

Who can see what

• Your username, name, picture and country can be seen by other signed-in Cartrdg users, so friends can find you.
• Your Top 10, Playing now, public shelves and reviews are visible to other signed-in users, unless you turn on Private profile in Account settings. Shelves you mark “Just me” are only ever visible to you.
• Your email address is never shown to other users.

Services we use

Cartrdg relies on a few companies to run. They only get what they need to do their job:

• Supabase stores your account and Cartrdg data and handles signing in.
• Vercel hosts the website.
• Sentry tells us when something breaks. If you hit an error, it receives technical details about it (what went wrong, which page, your browser and device type). It doesn't receive your password, and it doesn't use cookies or record your screen.
• Google and Discord, if you choose to sign in with them.
• Game information comes from IGDB (Twitch), with store and review details from Steam and CheapShark. We look up games there; we don't send them anything about you.

Keeping or deleting your data

We keep your data while you have an account. To get a copy of your data or to delete your account and everything in it, email tyler.mitchell1138@gmail.com from the email address on your account. Deleting your account permanently removes your rankings, lists, shelves, reviews and follows.

Children

Cartrdg isn't meant for children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their information.

Changes

If this policy changes, we'll update this page and the date at the top.
